A small Twilight rip-off?

So, I've watched the True Blood first season, and read the last two books.
So, is it me or is it a slight rip-off of Twilight?
Sookie, a human, is in love with a vampire, Bill.
No one likes Bill but Sookie.
Vampires wanna drink from Sookie, or kill her.
They ask for her help, and a vampire attacts her and Bill saves her.

Does that not sound familiar?

It does seem a bit like Twilight.
In fact, a lot like Twilight.

Now, I don't like Twilight at all, but I see similarities within the context.
However, I prefer this rather than Twilight, seeing how they don't bull around with the main concept of vampires.
Thanks to True Blood, I now don't hate vampires.

Well, Twilight came out before it so I wouldn't be surprised if there were many similarities.
I would recommend the Vampire Kisses series && the Vampire Diaries. The latter came out before Twilight so I would check it out and a TV series is coming out soon.

You're welcome. But I must warn you. It's graphic and the first book's main characters do not become the main characters in the second and so on. But I love them!
